The new world in a nutshell. Last night I listened to Thomas Friedman speak about “hyper-connectivity” in North Chicago. Friedman wasn’t telling us anything new (well, maybe it was new to the crowd of mostly retired folks), but he would have loved to have this to prove his point. Friedman wrote “The World is Flat,” about how technology was connecting the world and changing the economy, in 2004. As he pointed out last night, that was before Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Pinterest, and Yelp had transformed communication. Things change so quickly.
Makes me wonder what 2015 will look like. (but I’m not thinking too deep on that, still struggling to catch up to 2012.)
